Recently, a tourist from Ohio strolled through our doors. He was officially on vacation in Hilton Head, and decided to come down our way for a day of window shopping. Fortunately, when he strolled into 24e, that turned into much more. Customer "Viceroy" is a second generation owner of a construction company, and is a true guy's guy. In addition to that, though, he has very refined taste, having "grown up reading Architectural Digest." He is a perfect blend of sophistication and cool. Viceroy is what 24e is all about.
Because we were dealing with new construction of Viceroy's own dream home, we started with an empty pallet. The overall desired look in many of the rooms was masculine opulence. By the time we finished, we achieved a rich blend of velvet, Carerra marble, stainless steel, rich hardwoods, and leather. The walls were primarily shades of gray, while the floors were dark hardwoods on the main floor and stone on the downstairs floor. In the main floor foyer, we used a cluster of our Marakech lighting to add a splash of color right inside the front door. In the kitchen we incorporated oversized glass teardrop pendants over commercial grade polished steel and black leather Zola bar stools. We were working with an open space plane, so the sofa was designed to float between the media wall and the kitchen island. Vic wanted a sofa that enabled conversation with guests in both the kitchen and the living room. To best serve our needs, we spec'ed our Kiley sofa, which comes with an oversized detached ottoman. The best part about the Kiley is that the ottoman is made to be used either in front in the traditional manner, or on the back side of the sofa. The frame is built entirely out of hard woods, and has been constructed to be sat on atop the tops of the arms and back. This is truly an entertainer's sofa.
In the dining room, we installed our 94" aluminum clad Boston table with eight of our gray linen/Aspen gray Conner dining chairs. The room was completed with a vintage Rosewood elephant door frame from India, which will be used with a 72" floor standing mirror. In the master bedroom, we installed our custom Mayfield bed in a smoke colored velvet Fleurs-de-Lis. As bed side tables, we used our custom cube shaped trunks clad in vintage black leather. One thing on Viceroy's wish list was to incorporate rich reds in his bedroom. to achieve this we installed custom red velvet curtains behind a pair of our American Bella chairs, covered in our Flagstaff Candied Apple red leather. So that Viceroy and a guest could watch both television and the lakefront outside his window, we spec'ed the swivel option.
Once completed, the "Viceroy" project was a huge success. Viceroy's newly constructed dream home was designed to be both masculine and beautiful, both cool and chic. We thank him so much for allowing 24e to be a part of the grand design. Thank you as well to all of the fine people in Ohio for being so hospitable during the July 4th weekend.
