In order to recognize talented young designers, the Furniture Design Department at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) along with the prestigious furniture design showroom 24e, has created the first Furniture Design Awards. This inaugural event will honor great student designs and will be held in the most influential showroom in the city.
The event will be held Friday, March 5th from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at 24e, located at 24e Broughton Street.
Student projects will be initially selected by SCAD faculty and those pieces will then be judged by industry professionals, creative city officials, and members of the press based on criteria of originality and creativity. The three selected student designs will be announced the night of the party and the students will be honored in a special ceremony where they will be presented with an award.
This event will also give the designers – and everyone in attendance – the opportunity to visit the new 24e Design Center which will feature a multitude of fabrics, 24e’s in house Interior Designer, Christian Dunbar, and enhanced ordering for clients through their design showroom.
Additionally, 24e will contribute 10% of everything sold during the event to SCAD’s Furniture Design Department for scholarships and student activities.
Please join us for what promises to be not only a unique experience but also a fun time for all.
(This event is free and open to the public.)

My Wish List from 24e!

LOUIS GHOST CHAIR-The versatility of the Ghost Chair never takes away from the space, so good for jazzing up small living areas! The traditional design in a very modern material with an optic illusion of seeing through the chair, I just love the everything Philipe Stark – you can also customize ghost chairs now with imagery, monograms, you name it!(Click here to buy now )
RED BOTICELLI MIRROR-Because I was raised around traditional details and the grand design with British antique furniture, I am drawn to that traditional style, but I really like the modern elements, like the material or BRIGHT pop colors! The Red Boticelli, with its’ traditional size, shape, and detail in a super modern color and texture is perfect and lightweight. ( Click here to buy now )
LALIQUE CHANDELIER-I love the Lalique chandelier for its versatility as well… At 24e we keep the glass plates on during spring/summer and remove them to create a snowflake or sputnik shape for Christmas…(Click here to buy now )
